How do we work?

The FRร†MWORKโ„ข

We call our working system the FRร†MWORKโ„ข. It is divided by decision rather than by craft, so each phase hands the next one something it can build on. It connects strategy, identity, execution and optimisation in four phases that build on one another.

Each phase answers a different set of questions and leaves behind something the next phase can work with. Explore decides what you should stand for. Shape turns that position into a system. Create puts it into the market. Evolve measures what works and improves what does not. The phases have an order, but they are not a package. If the foundation already exists, we do not rebuild it. We start where the actual gap is.

Why do we work this way?

The Handover Dilemma

Most companies we talk to do not have a quality problem. They have a continuity problem.

The consultancy did solid work. So did the design agency. The production company delivers strong footage, and the performance agency knows its channels. And still, no coherent picture reaches the market.

The problem usually sits between the disciplines. The positioning in the strategy document never reaches the designer. The design system is unknown to the people producing content. The campaign makes a promise that was never decided strategically. Every part can be good on its own, while the whole still feels disconnected.

That is why the FRร†MWORK is organised around decisions rather than disciplines. Strategy decides what the company should stand for. Identity translates that into a recognisable system. Execution brings it into the market. Optimisation shows what should change next.

And because we cover that full chain, we can look at the gap before we look at the service. Sometimes the answer is strategy. Sometimes the strategy is already sound and the real problem is simply that too little is being produced consistently. In that case, that is where we start.

Independent from the phase in our FRร†MWORKโ„ข we focus on understanding where you actually stand, before anything is proposed. After kicking off the project, we go into revision and deliver our results. After you have aligning internally and we implement feedback, we provide you with the final deliverables.

1

First call

Pain points, scope, and who makes the final call.

We send a few questions about your market before the call, so the meeting does not start with introductions. The point is not which service we could sell you, but where in the system the biggest gain sits. If we are not the right people for it, this is where we say so.

2

Proposal

How we support, what it enables, and how

You get a document, not a price list. It sets out what we understood, proposes an entry phase, and covers scope, timeline and cost. It is written so you can pass it to your decision-makers unchanged.

2

Proposal

How we support, what it enables, and how

Analysis, concept, production or evaluation, depending on the phase. Whatever comes out, we sort it before you see it. Not every inconsistency is a problem, and not every finding matters equally. You get what counts, not all of it. We need nothing from you.

3

Partnership

One contact, one place for feedback.

One named contact, the same person who was in the first call. A regular standing meeting instead of status emails. And an approval system, so nobody has to guess what has already been decided.

3

Partnership

One contact, one place for feedback.

Whether it is a workshop, feedback round or review call depends on the phase. Who decides does not. What we have is on the table, the options get tested, and the direction is set by those who will defend it internally.

4

Handover

Deliverables

You get the findings as a PDF: the summary with the decisions up front, for the people who need convincing. The evidence behind it, for the people who work with it. What happens next you can do with us or without us.

4

Handover

Deliverables

Whatever the phase produces, you get it twice: as working material for production and as a short version for internal alignment. The scope follows the mandate, the two versions stay. After that, you carry on, with or without us.

Why this approach?

This approach enables

One consistent presence, from first contact to campaign.

Website, content, campaigns and sales material follow the same positioning and the same system. Your market experiences one brand rather than a series of separate efforts.

We start where it counts most.

We do not have to translate your problem into our offer. If the positioning is sound and the real bottleneck is that nothing is produced regularly, we say so instead of selling you a strategy first.

Pace that builds with every project.

The fundamental questions get decided once and are not reopened at every briefing. The second project costs less coordination than the first, and the third less than the second.

You stay because it works.

Decisions, rules, assets and analysis sit with you. Internal teams or other partners can build on them. The relationship holds because the work does, not because nothing would run without us.

Frequently Asked Questions!

How do you report, and what do we measure you on after six months?

After every phase, we provide a handover package, not just a final deliverable. The goal is for the work to continue running smoothly without us.

After "Explore": Positioning, market and target audience analysis, and a competitive overview, materials your team and external service providers can work with.

After "Shape": A document containing templates and guidelines, structured so that a third party can apply them without needing to consult us.

After "Create": The finished assets in the required formats.

In "Evolve": Reporting history and setup documentation, detailing which accounts, tracking methods, and automations are in place. Plus, a recurring meeting schedule that we determine together.

Two points we address right from the start: Ad accounts, analytics access, and domains are registered in your name, not ours. And the documentation is written so that a successor can understand it, rather than making us indispensable.

Our reason for this is self-serving: when a collaboration ends, it should be by choice, not because someone is locked in with no way out.

Does FRAEM know our sector?

An honest answer: We might well be, but probably not quite yet. Even if the industry is the same, the customer segment or the product itself might differ.

We have worked extensively in sectors ranging from garden machinery, construction materials, and commercial vehicles to residential housing, the hospitality industry, and many others. The common thread isn't the industry, but the task: grasping a complex subject and communicating it in a way that truly resonates with the market.

That is why Explore begins not with ideas, but with analysis: a brand audit, target audience and market analysis, and a competitive comparison. The result is a document you can review before any production begins. You donโ€™t have to take our word for it that we understand your market; you can see the evidence for yourself.

What we donโ€™t bring to the table is your specialized expertise. That comes from within your company, and during the first few weeks, we ask more questions than some might find comfortable. The division of labor is simple: you know the product, and we ensure it connects with the audience.
We do set one boundary upfront: if communication in a specific sector is essentially a legal task, where every single statement requires formal approval, then we aren't the right partner. We make that clear during the initial consultation, not three months down the line.

How long does a phase take, and what do we need to contribute?

Less than most people expect. However, the time commitment is concentrated rather than spread out.

Explore requires significant attention but little actual labor: a kickoff meeting, one or more discussions or workshops with management, sales, and marketing; access to existing data (such as sales figures, CRM reports, or past market research); and a final decision meeting.
Shape requires materials and decisions: existing logos, font licenses, and current guidelines, plus a feedback round and a designated person with final authority on the brand.
Create requires expert input: product knowledge, access to a site or factory for filming, on-camera talent, and approvals from legal or compliance departments.
Evolve requires reliability: a standing meeting at an agreed-upon interval and a contact person capable of providing approvals within three business days.

One point upfront: We cannot make the final decision for you. We present options, explain the rationale behind them, and offer a recommendation. The person who gives the final go-ahead must come from within your organization.

Do we have to commission all four phases, or where's the right entry point for us?

Most collaborations begin with a specific phase or service rather than all four. The starting point depends on the specific issue at hand. Here are a few examples:

Multiple departments describe your offering in different ways. Or, a rebranding project or new website is on the horizon, yet there is no agreed-upon brief. โ†’ Explore
A strategy exists, but every piece of advertising looks different, and service providers constantly ask what is permissible. โ†’ Shape
The direction is clear, but output is lacking. Or, the website and content fail to convey the message. โ†’ Create
Things are up and running, but no one can say what value is being generated. โ†’ Evolve

Especially in larger organizations, the initial engagement is often not "Explore" (Phase 1), but rather a specific project from the "Create" or "Evolve" stagesโ€”such as a campaign, a production, or ongoing support. This is perfectly acceptable. The sequence of phases reflects the logic of the work, not a mandatory purchasing order.
We do, however, make one caveat: if your positioning remains undefined, the "Create" phase will generate expensive output based on shaky foundations. In such cases, we recommend starting with "Explore," even if a straightforward production assignment might seem like the quicker route for both parties.
